It was a successful weekend for Wynnum in the Premier 7’s competition with both divisions coming away with wins making it 2 out of 2 for both teams!
Division 3 traveled to Wellington Point on Sunday afternoon and came away with a 2 rinks to 1 win. The singles and pairs had a win however unfortunately the fours couldn’t get over the line after a great effort. A special mention to the pairing of Bob Muir and Bob Sinnamon who secured a 6 in the last end to come away with the win. Thank you to Wellington Point for your hospitality.
Division 5 crossed the bridge to Windsor Saturday afternoon and with temperatures soaring where able to come away with a 3 rink to 0 win. Great play by the pairs and fours and a special mention to Kevin Shea in the singles who had a hard fought 31-28 win. Thank you to Windsor for your hospitality.
Club Championships begun on the weekend as well with George Webster having a win in the singles. Ken Willey and George Hollanby were winners in the pairs and Allan Humphries, Des Hawkins, Rob Rimes and Eric Andrews came away with the win in the fours.
With no competition games Australia Day weekend get down to the club and put your name down for Saturday 1pm social. Teams are also up for Round 3 of the Premier 7’s and Round 1 of the Summer Shield.
