Weekend Bowls Results

Both Premier 7’s teams were in action playing the first round (and in the division 5 teams case the second round as well) of the finals this weekend.

The Division 5 team traveled to Jindalee on Saturday evening to play the first round final game against Victoria Point coming away with a 2 rink 1 to win. It is worth noting the singles rink went down by only 1 point 29-30 being beaten by the bell.

Division 5 progressed to the next round which meant an early start back out at Jindalee after a late night of bowls on the Saturday. This game was against Dalby and was a nail biter. The pairs winning their rink and the singles being unsuccessful it came down to the team of fours. After 21 ends played they could not be split at 21-21 so an extra end was required which we unfortunately went down by 1 shot. This capped off a great effort from our Division 5 team for this years competition.

Division 3 played their first and only game of the weekend at Ipswich united Sunday morning against Caboolture Lakes and were successful winning 2 rinks to 1 with the singles going down in a hard fought game. This means they progress through to the next round with is drawn to be played at Musgrave Hill Bowls Club. Teams and exact dates and times to follow this afternoon.

In the Club Championships the Sunday games were postponed on account of both Premier 7 teams playing Sunday morning. The only game of singles played on the Saturday has I. Redford progressing to the final.
