Pennant’s Results Round 1

Week one wraps up with two wins and a narrow loss for our 3 teams. Like usual the first week of Pennant’s threw up some challenges to the selectors especially after the COVID period off and of course with everyone being extra careful at the moment if they are feeling unwell we had a few late pull outs. We thank these players for being honest and doing the right thing for their club and their teammates.

Division 2 were away to a strong Victoria Point team and fell short on all 3 rinks with a differential score of 7 which goes to show how close the game was. We thank Victoria Point for their hospitality.

Division 5 were hosts at home to Point Lookout and were winners, winning 2 rinks to 1 and an over score of 56 to 48. A great 2 points to start the season and as always we enjoy playing host to our island neighbors and we hope you enjoyed your visit to Wynnum.

Division 7 were also hosts to another of our island neighbors in Russell Island. This was a special game for a few of our players who were playing their first game for the club and also first Pennant’s game ever including Sam Parker aged 12 playing along side his dad (aged who knows!!). It was a great result for old and new players coming away with a 3 rink win and final score of 82 to 42. Thank you for your visit Russell Island – always a pleasure hosting you.

Teams are up for next week so head over to the competition page to see the team selections for round two, the competition draw and progressive scores.

Have a safe week!
